Since the generous folks who support Ellie’s Rainy Day Fund gave us the gift of her full treatment, our sweet girl is back home being the love bug she, and we, enjoy. Her sight has returned and (so far at least) the seizures haven’t! Thank you for giving Luna a chance to live her best life for as long as she is able. Thank you for keeping our family whole!

Luna R.

I am the best present ever! I joined my family two years ago as the birthday present for my then 6 year old human sister. She was so excited”and so was I!

Upon arrival, I went right to œwork being my girl’s sibling (she’d been an œonly until me) and constant companion. I make her laugh with my clumsiness in trying to catch my bouncy ball. Hey, we can’t all be athletes! I make her feel loved every second of every day.

In fact, that goes for the whole family. My Mom’s been feeling anxious with all the craziness in the world today, but I crawl up on her and make her feel more at ease. She smiles lots when I’m doing my 25 spins before laying in her lap. My Dad says he needs my goofiness too, what with worrying about paying the mortgage and starting his new job and all.

Weird stuff started happening to me last March. I’d feel all trembly. Then I’d black out and when I came to I was all wet from drool and my people were all gathered around me looking worried. I was pretty spacey for awhile after that. I felt bad because I wasn’t taking as good of care of them but these spells just came on me.

Recently, I had a really bad one and my folks had to rush me to the hospital. I heard the doctor saying words like œgrand mal, and my Mom sounding frantic as she explained that they’d used up all their Care Credit on my first night there. I wanted to tell them I’d be OK but I kept having these shakes”œseizures they called them. Plus, I’d lost my vision so it was hard to tell what was happening.

A note from Luna’s Mom:

Our Luna means everything to us. She is my daughter’s best friend, our other dog Gracie’s anchor, my anxiety-buster and my fiancé’s spark of joy. She is a vital part of our family. When our Care Credit ran out, we would’ve had to take her home still seizing, with probably a very bad ending.
