Thanks to the donors of ERDF, Libby is home with us this Christmas, albeit, in some post-surgery pain, but in a few short weeks, she will finally be able to walk, run and play! Thanks to you, the remaining years we will have with Libby, she will finally be pain free and will have quality of life! Thank you, and Merry Christmas to all the fur babies out there!
Libby’s Mom

Hi. My name is Libby. I live to hike, swim and sniff! There’s nothing better than going for a walk with my family.

Well, maybe some things are almost as good”like Bill’s donuts (I KNOW what that white bag is as soon as it comes in the house). OK, and my morning treats (I take Dad right to the treat box first thing when we get up).

Oh, and then there’s sleeping between Mom and Dad. I bring my moose or bear and snuggle right in. That’s pretty awesome.

I also love my cat, Ellie. And being with my Mom. I follow her everywhere. I regularly go on errands with her. She needs my company and she also needs me to talk to strangers”to break the ice.

I joined the family to help my folks through their empty nest syndrome. In fact, their oldest was graduating from the police academy and I heard them tell the people where I was born that he wanted a black lab like he grew up with. He brought my Mom along so I got a furever home and so did my sister. Which is totally cool because I always have someone to wrestle with.

Except, one day when she and I were playing extra hard, I felt this horrible pain in my knee. The next time I tried to play, I couldn’t. I’d struggle through going on my beloved walks. But then I’d be down for three days after. Lately, I’d just been holding that leg up and hopping around on the other three.

I heard my folks talking about how badly they felt for me, and about how they were letting me down cuz they couldn’t afford the surgery to fix me. My dog sister was getting really depressed because I couldn’t play anymore. I didn’t want to cause all these problems but I just couldn’t handle the pain.

But guess what? It’s all going to be OK! These amazing dog lovers I don’t even know understood how awful things were for me and my family and they gave money so I got my surgery. I have this awful thing around my head right now and everyone keeps telling me I have to be still. But they promised that in six weeks I can walk and play again! Best Christmas present ever!
