If it were not for your contributors and your fund, Colby would not have gotten a second chance at life. The work that you do is so valuable to not only the pets, but to the families that love and care for them. We truly believe that pets are part of the family, and the caring people who support Ellie’s Rainy Day fund have gifted us the opportunity to spend many more years with our dog sibling!
COLBY'S FAMILY
Hi Ellie's team,
An email will never suffice, but I wanted to send you my family's most sincere thank you for helping bring Colby back to his playful, loving self. We were in shock when we accidentally ran into our sweet boy in the driveway, and we had no idea the extent of his recovery!

Colby had a rough start to life. He was rescued from an abuse situation where he was kept in a chicken wire crate that was much too small for him. He had not been let out in a long time, as his own feces and urine caked the floor under the crate. A year later, his original rescuer found that she couldn’t handle a dog with her young children, and Colby found himself heartbroken again. This is where our family came in, and Colby finally entered a home where he was given the enormous amount of love he deserves.
Colby does not know a stranger, and every single person he meets is a new opportunity to make a friend. We truly believe he understands he was rescued, and is grateful for the love and new life our family has been able to provide to him. His rough past didn't make him mean or bitter towards people, it only made him hopeful that better people would come along. You would never know his past was so appalling because he is the happiest and friendliest dog.
I know he would love to thank you guys himself, greeting you with a kiss and an open-mouth smile, while rolling over to see if you'll give him some belly rubs (his absolute favorite)! He really is a one of a kind dog, and it would have been devastating if we couldn't help him get back to a life he loves so much. Words can never be enough to thank every one of you for giving Colby the chance to live the rest of his life only knowing love (and treats). I know the need is never-ending, as there are unfortunately so many animals that deserve love and generosity, - just as you have provided to us - but thank you for saving Colby. I know my family might be biased, but he is so deserving of another chance at life.
Thank you to all of those that helped.
