Bryan's Love Story

I am overwhelmed with the generosity of the donors of Ellie's Rainy Day Fund. You are such a blessing. I am overjoyed with knowing he will never suffer again. From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU!—for giving our guy back a normal life and for protecting our newly formed family.

Bryan's Mom

In Bryan's words...

I have the best family in the world! For the first time in my life, I feel safe and truly loved. I have a name now too. It’s Bryan. I’ll tell you in a bit about how I got it.

I started on the streets. It’s scary out there for a little 4 pound guy like me. I found something to eat most days because I’m determined. I found a place too. This lady let me live in her yard and she put out food. I had to be quick though or I didn’t get it. Every day was a challenge.

This one day I was chasing a squirrel and I forgot to be careful. Next thing I knew I was lying in a heap on the side of the road. I hurt a lot and my one leg was sticking out funny. I made it back to my yard but the lady there didn’t do anything about it.

Fast forward a year. That leg still gives me trouble! I have to drag it around and the big sore on top from where it scrapes on the ground hurts BAD.

Recently I was resting, watching lots of people take stuff from my lady’s garage and give her money, when my new family noticed me and started asking questions. They asked the lady if they could have me and she said sure.

I got put in their car on the super soft lap of my Mom. For the next three hours, she petted me and cooed at me and I snuggled in and purred at her. She and my Dad started talking about what to call me and decided that since the garage sale was in Bryan, OH, that would be perfect. Pretty cool huh? As soon as I got my name I knew that meant I was staying.

Now I’m showing them constantly how much I love being with them. I pretty much supervise their every move. And, I even like it that they’ve taken me to the scary doctor. They’ve had me tested and are giving me yucky medicine for my ear infections and the infection on my paw. The doctor said the biggest thing that needs done is to take off my bad leg. My folks seemed very worried that they couldn’t finish helping me because they couldn’t afford that surgery.

But this group called Ellie’s Rainy Day Fund gets people who love kitties like me who give money because they want to help. I can’t wait to get rid of this leg so I’ll be out of pain and can once again run free!

UPDATE

Bryan has now had his surgery. His Mom said when they rescued him he didn’t seem that sick but now that his leg has been removed and the infections cleared he is racing around the house like a new cat. He plays constantly. He loves his new life!

A Message from Bryan’s Mom

When we went garage sale-ing we certainly hadn’t intended to come home with a new member of the family. But when we saw Bryan and realized from the discussion with his “owner” that he wasn’t going to be helped, we just couldn’t leave him there. Bryan has brought so much joy to us already. We wanted desperately to take away his pain but we couldn’t afford what needed to be done. My husband is out of work and applying for disability. I ugly cried when I found out that you were going to transform all of our lives.
