We don’t know how to thank you for keeping that from happening. I’ve always believed that animal people are good people”caring people. The donors of Ellie’s Rainy Day Fund have certainly proved me right. We’re still awaiting the test results that will guide the treatment for our sweet girl, but thanks to you we have a chance to make her whole again. Thank you for keeping her as a part of our family.

Badglee

Badglee loves kids! Always has, from the time I got her as a 10 week old ball of fur. Back then, it was just her and me. But every time she saw a kid she had to go over and visit. So she was thrilled when my 4 and 5-year-old cousins came to live with us. It still makes me smile every day to see the love they so exuberantly share.

Badglee came into my life as my graduation gift from a friend who is a breeder.  I had grown up with a beloved chocolate lab. This girl joining me made me feel like I was ready to embark on my life’s journey.  I wanted to name her something unique and I liked my middle name, Lee, so I decided nothing could be better than for us to share a part of our names.

She’s truly my life’s partner.  For 10 years, she’s gone everywhere with me.  She motivates the girls and me to take evening family walks.  She gets us giggling when she insists we rub her belly. When anybody comes to the door, she runs to get them her monkey (which she has had BTW since she was two!).  She brings all three of us so much joy!

It all happened so fast when she started having problems!  It went from her limping on Dec. 23, to her not bearing weight and having a swollen shoulder on the 24th  (precipitating a frantic trip to the ER), to her whole head and upper body being swollen on the 25th (hence our spending Christmas back in the ER),  to labored breathing on the 26th (triggering a visit to our regular vet for testing the next morning).  The whole thing was a nightmare and nobody knew what the core problem was.

So, by the time we were sent to the oncologist on Tuesday, we were out of money.  Badglee is my child.  How was I going to get her the diagnostics she needed to get her out of pain?  Were the kids and I going to lose her without getting to try to help?

I don’t know how to thank you for keeping that from happening.
