Ralph's Love Story

I can’t tell you how thankful I am for your help.  My paying part and your kind donors paying part has reminded me that I’m not alone.  It means so much to know there are people who value fur babies the way I do and who want to help keep those important relationships intact.  My kitties are my other children.  THANK YOU for keeping my family whole.

Ralph's Mom & Sister

A Message from Ralph's Mom & Sister...

I’ve tried and tried, but Ralph just can’t handle living inside.  But that doesn’t mean he doesn’t deserve to be well cared for and know he’s loved.

I have four purr babies who live inside, all rescues who were abandoned and/or abused.  That’s probably what first brought Ralph around.  He just showed up one day and never left.  When I first approached him, he wasn’t scared.  In fact, he started talking to me and wanted to cuddle. It’s pretty obvious to me that someone abandoned him.

Since he’s scared of the litter box and doesn’t get along with the other cats, I made him his own apartment in the garage.  He loves his heated bed and room service, and he especially loves his family time.  So every evening my daughter and I go hang out in the garage.  He runs right over to crawl on our laps and he has the loudest motor you’ve ever heard!  During the day, he goes in and out to patrol the yard and lounge on his favorite spot on the deck.  I’m not sure how he knows, but he ALWAYS runs to greet me when I get home.

Life has gotten more complicated since my husband  and I both lost our jobs to COVID.  His disabilities have thus far prevented him from getting a new one.  But then he can be there for my son who struggles with autism and with the limitations that come from having been born with half a heart. While  I am now working two jobs, seven days a week.  I can’t tell you at the end of a long day how much Ralph’s greetings and snuggling serve to restore my spirit and warm my heart!

So, when one day he didn’t come trotting over to tell me about his day, I was worried.  Eventually he limped over.  Before long his foot started swelling.

I never ask for help, but I won’t let my animals suffer.  I was afraid that I couldn’t afford treatment and I would have to put Ralph down.  My daughter and I would’ve been heartbroken. And it would feel so unfair.  He’s so sweet and he finally has a place where he knows he’s loved.
