Hi, My name is Pressidio. But you can call me Pressi. My family and friends do. And if you’re one of the donors who saved my life, you’re definitely a good friend!
You saved me and my Daddy you know. Yep, people say he’s “special needs”. I just know he needs me and I need him! When he goes out, I’m right there to greet him at the door when he returns. He always knocks on the door before he walks in so he doesn’t startle me. Then I walk him to the sofa and climb up into his lap. If he insists on moving around, I’m right there with him. Who says a cat can’t be a bodyguard?
A while ago, I had to stop eating. I felt lousy! I couldn’t cuddle or play. I knew my Daddy needed me, but I couldn’t keep going. I didn’t think I was going to make it. I had to go into the hospital. It made me feel doubly bad when I heard my Grandma tell the lady in scrubs that Daddy just kept saying over and over, “Mom, I need my cat”.
I was gone for several days to the ICU. They did all kinds of tests. The worst was when they put this cold gooey stuff on me and ran a cold wand thing over my belly. They said I had something called “inflammation”. So for a while I had to get my food through a tube. Somehow, I guess they fixed it! I’m home now gobbling the seafood flavored wet food Daddy has started feeding me. And I’m back to doing acrobatics on my cat perches, watching out for my Daddy, and making sure he never feels alone.
