MeeShee's Love Story

When I found out you could help, I was in tears. You are such a blessing to me and other families who need emergency help with their dogs and cats. There is absolutely no way I could’ve still had my girl without you. MeeShee and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
A Letter from MeeShee's Mom
MeeShee’s breath would “knock down a tree.” Dr. Hapner said it was the infection in her mouth, and that left unchecked it could harm her heart, liver and kidneys.
But I’m still recovering from breast cancer surgery and chemo. I try to always put her needs before my own, but I’m on disability and no matter what I tried, I couldn’t find a way to afford the x-rays, dental surgery and medications.
My MeeShee is my family. The last few years have been tough. It started with my husband dying unexpectedly from a blood clot following cancer removal surgery. Then my Mom died, as did both my mother and father-in-laws. And Sissy (MeeShee’s sister who I’d gotten for my husband) passed. With her going, it felt like I’d lost the last part of my husband.
So now it’s just me and MeeShee. She’s all my support. She stayed by my side through all my treatment. When the chemo wore me out so badly that I had to crawl upstairs to go to bed, she layed at the top of the steps and encouraged me on. I need her with me. I even have papers to show she’s my emotional support dog.

She’s with me almost all the time. She’s only 18 pounds but boy can she hog the bed! She stations herself either around my head or against my back, sometimes pushing me way to the edge.
As you can see, I’d be totally lost without her! I knew earlier that she needed the dental work and I was still trying to figure out a way to afford it. Then this visit, Dr. Hapner found a problem with her heart that he said was being caused by the mouth issues. I know he really cares about me and MeeShee. So, he figured out a way to make it work. He contacted you--Ellie’s Rainy Day Fund.
