JAX the Cat's Love Story

“Knowing people care enough to take care of strangers gives me hope. Not having to say goodbye to my best friend feels miraculous. Thank you, thank you, thank you!”
JAX the Cat's Story…
When Jax came into my life I had recently lost my child and the grief was overwhelming. He appeared at a time that I desperately needed a companion and he has been my best friend ever since. He helped relieve the loneliness and he brought some happiness in the most difficult time of my life. He is truly my family.
Jax is a big boy! He weighs around 20 pounds. Maybe that is why at times he acts more like a dog than a cat. Jax even plays fetch! He loves to carry around his favorite ball in his mouth and toss it in the air. I am so proud of him when he catches it.

He is the most laid back cat. And he just loves everyone. His best friend is my mom’s mini dachshund. You should see them when they get to wrestling! You’d better get your legs out of the way. He IS like a dog. Big and goofy. I can’t begin to tell you the amount of joy he brings to my life.
He has always been so healthy. I was devastated when he became ill. I wasn’t sure I could survive another loss. Without treatment, he would’ve died. When a cat can’t pee, in a few days they are gone. I didn’t know what I was going to do. I have no financial support and work full time while completing my bachelor’s degree. I did not have money saved for this emergency. I was desperate for help.
When the vet told me about the kind people who give to Ellie’s Rainy Day Fund, I couldn’t believe it. And the fact that all I had to do was focus on my sweet Jax getting better, was a huge relief.
It means so much to me to receive this help as I did not have any other options to pay for Jax’s expenses. The fact that this help is available and that a brutal approval process was not going to delay his treatment is astonishing. I don’t know what I would have done without the help that this fund offered. Thank you, thank you, thank you!”
