Louis’ Love Story

I was speechless when I found out you were going to help us. I can't even imagine what the outcome would have been without you. Before the vet came to tell me, I honestly thought I would be saying goodbye to my best friend. I’m so incredibly grateful to each of you for this help!!! ~Louis' mom

Want to know what I love best?

Bell peppers, baths, my stuffed moose—and most of all, my Mom and her family.

I remember my mom looking at me for the first time and saying – “this one’s name is Louis and he’s coming home with me!” and home I went.

From the time she picked me up to say hello until right now, there’s never been a time that we were together that I haven’t been right by her side. I bury my snout in her chest or have my paw on her at all times.

My cuddles have gotten her through college and other hard times. And it’s made me feel important and loved. We are there for each other, no matter what!

I know what people are feeling, and I make it all better. If cuddling doesn’t work, I make them laugh. Like, I hop into the bathtub or shower with my Mom if she has gotten too quiet.

She knew I was sick when I stopped cuddling, and then I refused to eat my bell peppers. I made a mess with my poop too. I was so embarrassed.

But she told me it was OK and whisked me off to the doggie hospital. I saw a girl in a white coat. Next thing I knew, I was waking up with a cut on my belly and Mom telling me not to eat my toys anymore, and scaring her to death.

I was thrilled to go home, but then there was another problem with my stomach, so I’m back at the hospital. But the nice nurses made me another nest to lie by them, so I’m always still touching someone.

Mom came yesterday to visit!! She cuddled me lots and told me I’d be coming home soon. I can’t wait! I miss her and my bed so much!

I finally came home today! All my favorite people came and visited me today. I love my humans, and I am so happy to be home and get all the cuddles. Most importantly, I can not wait for some more bell peppers.
