Haylee’s Love Story

I can’t be without my Haylee. She is my everything. How can it be that you people who don’t even know me have made donations that have saved my life? Yes, you saved my life too. I believe that God sent you. Just like he sent Haylee into my life after Mom died to remind me that I was still loved. Thank you for being the kind and generous people that you are. I will never forget what you've done for us.

Does your dog rush to the door when you go out to mow the lawn, waiting excitedly for you to return and take off your grassy socks, so she can steal them?
Does he or she stop to bark at dog statues in neighbors’ yards?
Do they know the sound of your car and meet you every time?
Does your pup spend the night sleeping on your head?
And the most important question of all. Do you like it when they do these things?

That's a small part of the joy of my life with Haylee. And I wouldn’t trade a second of it. I have never felt so loved or so entertained in my whole life!

My girl and I are like glue. She has gotten me through some horrendous times of grief. I recently lost my mother to cancer and I’m not sure I would’ve made it through without Haylee.

Actually, she started her job as grief counselor even earlier. I had lost my previous Chihuahua to heart failure, and I just couldn’t seem to get over it. But then I went to meet my little Haylee pup. She ran over and jumped in my lap and gave me a kiss. My heart broke wide open.

When she recently started whimpering and wouldn’t even go for a walk, I became terrified that something was really wrong. I rushed her to the vet and they suspected bladder stones, but I couldn’t afford all the tests needed to confirm that.

When it got worse, the next day, I called the vet and they said they thought they had a way to help us out. If she hadn’t gotten that final testing and the surgery to unblock her, she would’ve died.
