I can’t begin to express how thankful I am that you and Dr. Hanhart at Miami Valley Animal Hospital made it possible for me to keep my Toby. If anything happened to him it would be like losing my daughter Robin all over again.
Toby’s Mom
Hi! My name is Toby. My grandma says I’m a œsix-year-old ball of fire. I first joined the family when my Mom saw me at a place called the œshelter. I was just a pup then”5 month old” and It was love at first sight for me and I’m pretty sure it was for her too. I’ve always had lots of energy so my grandma told my Mom I was œtoo hyper and I œwasn’t a good idea.
Then my Mom got sick. I heard someone call it œcancer. She asked my grandma to take good care of me. After my Mom died, I knew I needed to take good care of my grandma too. I take my job very seriously. I keep an eye on her all the time; I walk her every day; and I make sure she doesn’t get lonely. I let her choose which toy I’ll play with and I always bring her whichever one she says. My ball is my favorite so I’m glad when she asks for it. Oh yeah, and I take her for rides whenever I can and make sure she goes to bed at a good hour. Sometimes I have to come get her to go to bed. Then once I’m sure she’s settled, I cover myself up and we have a good slumber.
A year ago my mouth started bothering me. Grandma told my doctor she was on a œfixed income and couldn’t afford many extras. I was OK but then a couple of months ago things got worse. I listened carefully this time when we saw the doctor and he said I had a fractured tooth and things would only get worse. He said there was this Fund named after another dog, Ellie that was started to help families like ours to get the help we needed to stay together.
So I had my surgery and now I’m back to œbeing a blessing. It makes me proud when she says that to other people about me.
